SnagTights: New Bra Who Dis - A Plus Size Bra Review

Hey, it’s me again. I hope you had some time to check out Thunda Thighs’ new drop!

Today, it’s all about SnagTights. SnagTights is a brand that’s been on my radar for several years - but I’m not a regular tights wearer so they weren’t in my regular rotation of shopping sites I visit when I have downtime and a little extra cash on hand. It was always lurking, popping up in Instagram ads and tempting me with their extremely diverse model pool. I mean, who doesn't love seeing what clothes look like on different body types? We're not all shaped the same, so I really love when brands have a wide range of models.

A Little Background

Onto the story - I hate bras. I have always hated bras. And not only that, but being fat and having a big chest isn’t fun for the wallet. Did I really want to keep paying $60+ for a single push up bra? (Why are they always push up bras??)

So after wearing bralettes from Target (I love you, Target) for years that smashed my chest down and offered little support, I decided to try the Snag Bra. And boy, did it deliver.

The Purchase

It was my first purchase from SnagTights, so I didn’t want to go overboard. There was a pretty good sale so I decided to buy a bra, some tights (duh it’s in their name) and a harness because what goth girl doesn’t love a good harness?

So I waited for a little over a week since the shop is in the UK. I did have to email them because the tracking hadn’t shown up for four or five days, and that’s when I learned about how long customs could take. Yeesh.

The Goods

When the package arrived, it was in a small paper package. Each item was wrapped in colored paper and one of my favorite things - no weird manufacturing smell came off of the clothing. After struggling through figuring out the harness (I’m bad at math or physics or whatever that would count as), I decided to try the tights. The tights, of which I got a simple pair of black mock garters, were thick and had good structure. No flimsy fabrics here.

Now for the main event - the bra. I got the full cup bra in milk bottle, which honestly looked pinker in the photos on the site than in real life, which is a soft, warm beige. The bra has no underwire (thank God) and the fabric is thick and stretchy. As soon as I tried it on, I knew I needed 10 more.

The Results

Ok, I’ll be real. Being fat with a larger upper body, you tend to get some back fat spillover. Years of wearing bras that made my back fat spill over the top was enough to make me want to get rid of bras forever. But this bra, my friends, this bra is on another level. The band is long and thick, meaning my back fat is contained at all levels. The cups stretch over my chest perfectly and keeps me supported, but no gross underwire digging into my ribs. I know they say if it’s digging, the bra is too small, but when I’d get a bigger band, there’d be no support. It would slide down my sternum. So this is the real deal.

I’ve worn it to work (office job with occasional heavy lifting and a lot of stairs) light exercise (a walk around the block with my sweetie) and more intense exercise (yoga, pole, conditioning, etc.), and it held me in and held up through it all.

Oh, and did I mention, they’re only $40?

See you soon!
