Thick thighs save lives. We’ve heard it a million times from people of all shapes and sizes. But you know what thick thighs don’t save very well? Money.

Being fat while also being tall poses a few challenges when shopping for clothing - everything seems too short and too small. I’m not even that tall! I’m only 5’7”! But so many pants become capris on me and so many tops become crop tops. And not to mention, the dreaded chub rub. I've spent so much money on replacing bottoms and unsuccessful attempts at keeping chub rub at bay while trying to be cute.

For those unfamiliar, allow me to educate you; chub rub is what we thick thighed people experience when our thighs rub together. Chub rub has taken many pairs of jeans and leggings from me and makes walking around in the summer a complete nightmare if I don't have my glide on. So finding tights, socks, pants, and leggings that will last through the incessant chafing can be a struggle.

So, if you're in the market for a cute pair of socks that won't rip and protects your beloved thighs, look no further.

The Main Event

So on to the main event - a few years ago I was scouring the internet trying to find some thigh highs that were cute and affordable. And that actually fit my thick thighs. When I was a little smaller, I’d tried to make American Apparel’s thigh highs work for me, and while they were soft and tall, they stretched horribly above my knees and constantly fell and slid down my calves. So for a little while, I gave up on having thigh highs that fit.

Now, as a frequent user of Instagram, I came across an ad that I couldn’t look away from. A delightfully thick model in - could it be? - beautiful thigh highs that didn’t stretch over their thighs and an assortment of cute colors? Out of curiosity, I visited the page and went to their website. I was blown away. Beautiful socks that promised to stretch over the thickest of legs with ease. And the best part - SO affordable! For only $30 a pair, I too could have the cute accessories I always wanted.

Putting Them to the Test

Because this company is online only, I was cautious. I purchased two pairs of the Thunda Tubbies, one in a pastel pink (my favorite color) and one in black. They threw in a pair of thigh belts and a garter, too. The website was so user friendly and let me know that the socks may not stay up super well on their own, but these accessories could help them stay up all day.

After a few days, they came in the mail and I was SO excited. They fit perfectly and the thigh belts were adjustable, so after a few tries, I got them on snugly and securely without any pain or discomfort. They were so soft even before washing, which impressed me because I’m so used to clothes being a little stiff and weird smelling before the first wash.

The Results

My fate was sealed. I was in love with these socks. Over the last few years, I’ve collected more and more pairs. I now own pink stripes, black and yellow stripes, black and neon green, mustard yellow, rusty orange, variations of cow print, and white. I’m honestly probably forgetting quite a few that won't pop into my head until long after I publish this.

The versatility is amazing. Wear a pair with an oversized sweatshirt for a comfy, at-home look. Wear with a skirt and t-shirt for a chic casual look. Wear with a sweater dress for a more dressed up look. I like to wear them with my pole workout clothing for a little extra fierceness and style. They also look so good swishing around the pole with a pair of Pleasers.

Final Thoughts

So as you can see, they are quality. I’ve been fairly rough working out with a few pairs and they wash perfectly. No snags, no rips, no tears.

So if you’re tired of aimlessly searching for cute socks and being disappointed by price or quality, keep Thunda Thighs in mind.

See you soon!
